NOTE: While it may not be apparent in the tablature, if you listen carefully to the video you’ll notice that we have a rest on the first beat of the first measure. This is denoted by the hash mark below the tablature. 

Also, the first note of the second measure is plucked with the thumb (you may have noticed that this string is usually the domain of the index finger). We use the thumb in this instance to maintain the single-string picking pattern of thumb-index finger.
